View from the bus

I love the bus. I’ve met some really interesting people and to top it off I don’t have to worry about all the ladies who are talking on their cell phones and applying mascara while operating their overpriced automobiles. I’ve actually seem some applying hair spray while smoking. Yes, it’s good to be off the road.

On the way in this morning I saw a man on top of the mall putting up the huge (not as big as the Garrison that flies at the veterans memorial park on special occasions) flag in memorandum of 9/11. It made me smile to think that people still remembered, but sad that some can never forget.

The day before yesterday the mayor (whom I didn’t have the pleasure of not voting for, because I didn’t live within the city limits) got on the bus in a tight three piece suit with his (im guessing) translator and a photographer from the local paper. It was a total joke and no one realized who he was. His translator person was turning around to the people going “hey it’s the MAYOR” and they looked at him like “I give a shit? I’m on my way to work, doctor, etc.” I thought it was comical as the article the paper made it out to be some sort of huge event.
